You know, I should have mentioned in the beginning that I'm playing Japan to experience playing tall, as not so long ago I had my first finished game when I played rather wide. I mean, I'm a bit not satisfied with colonizing alaska (almost no natives, barerly any good trade goods, bad climate, bad terrain.), so I hope I'm missing something. Thanks!ĮDIT: One more thing, what's your strategy about starting colonialism? I've made a mistake and went for Phillipines instead and I wonder what to do now. But no need to complain, just thinking out loud. I really mean it, I don't understand why japanese realms care about some new thought arising 10 000 kilometers away, like, come on. But it's 1499, so it's still late as hell, but thanks, I will keep that in mind! They are on 36 development, 96,29% to getting it. I start most of my Uesugi games with "show strength" against Takeda and sometimes if I'm missing admin power to core further, I declare against one of the remaining Daimyos (as I'm not in a rush to unite Japan anyway). I'm really not sure what else there is to do.ĮDIT: One more question, do you guys think "Nobility in the officer corps" and "Burghers in the admirality" privileges are good?ĭamn, a shame. Do you have any tips for that? I think I played rather optimally, didn't siege with too many regiments, abused the free company to it's fullest and generally played rather opportunisticly, took only onesided wars. That's all I could think of and I guess I'm out of options. Oh, and I try to keep Bushi loyalty and influence high enough. I took "Strengthen noble privileges" government reform. I also have no army professionalism to slacken recruitment. I know about mercenaries, but they cost a fortune, so preferably I'd like to avoid hiring them. The problem is, I need manpower and I need it fast. But the fact is, my Free Company has 200 men left and I have like 6k manpower in total (as, people in the field, not reserve) while I still have 3 revolts to deal with. I'm playing a rather chilly game as Uesugi, I'm not sweating to unite Japan in 20 years or anything, just chilling after getting the northern half.
